Description

Caitlin Clark arrived in the WNBA in 2024 as the most hyped prospect in the league's history, and she spent her rookie season proving the hype was, if anything, understated. Drafted No. 1 overall by the Indiana Fever after a college career at Iowa that left her the NCAA Division I career leader in scoring and assists, Clark immediately rewrote the WNBA record book. She was named the 2024 Kia WNBA Rookie of the Year, and along the way she set a WNBA single-season record with 337 assists and established WNBA single-season rookie records of 769 points and 122 three-pointers made. She also holds a WNBA record for assists in a game (19), became the first rookie to post a triple-double, doing it twice, and was voted onto the First Team All-WNBA in a near-unanimous Rookie of the Year vote.

The 2025 season told a very different story. Rather than building on that debut, Clark spent much of the year on the trainer's table. She missed the Fever's preseason opener with left quad tightness, then suffered a left quad strain on May 24, returned, and was hit again in July by a right groin injury in the final minute of her team's win against the Connecticut Sun on July 15. That injury lingered for weeks, and in September the Fever confirmed she would not play again that season, closing the book on a year in which three separate injuries sidelined her for 28 of 41 regular-season games — a jarring contrast for a player who never missed a game during four years at the University of Iowa or during her rookie WNBA season in 2024. Even in limited action she remained productive, averaging 16.5 points, 8.8 assists, 5.0 rebounds and 1.6 steals across just 13 games, a reminder of what the Fever were missing.

That combination — a generational rookie campaign followed by a season defined by absence rather than accumulation — is what makes 2025 a complicated but important chapter in Clark's early career. It is also the backdrop against which this card exists. Her true rookie cards belong to 2024 product; this is a second-year issue, part of the debut run of Panini's Tunnel Vision insert within 2025 Donruss WNBA. Tunnel Vision captures dynamic entrance photography for fan-favorite players, part of a set that also introduced the Donruss Downtown insert, a hobby favorite across multiple sports, making its long-awaited WNBA debut in this release. Card #1 in that insert checklist puts Clark at the front of a design built around style and arrival rather than in-game action, a different kind of collectible than a rookie card but one tied to the same player whose presence has reshaped how the WNBA is watched, covered and collected.

How This Card Scores

This card scores 62% overall — the average of its five SWAPP™ ratings, each measured as set out below. A brand-new (2025) unnumbered insert of the hobby's most in-demand player, so demand and popularity are sky-high even though the plain base design has modest visual flash and its grade comes from a small, less-tracked grading company.

SellabilityHigh · 96%
High sellability index. PSA data shows no current basketball player, male or female, has more cards submitted for grading than Caitlin Clark, driving constant turnover of her cards.
Wow Factor60%
Worked out from how the card looks: a modern card with a base design (no parallel or special finish), which starts at 60% on its design. No autograph or patch is needed for that score.
Age40%
Worked out from the card's age: released 2025-10, it has been out about 1 year. Past six months, with comps to price it against, a card scores 40%; the next step comes at five years. That puts it at 40%.
Popularity96%
Caitlin Clark is the biggest star in women's basketball right now, driving nonstop media coverage and record-setting attention across the WNBA.
Population CountVery High · 3K · 16% Rarity
8 graded copies are known (estimated), with about 3000 more that could still exist ungraded — 3008 in all, very high population. This base Tunnel Vision insert is unnumbered and mass-produced, but Golden Grading is a small, newer company still building its population reports, so very few copies have likely been sent to them specifically.
